Easter, Quarantine Edition.

Going to be honest here… I struggled with the thought of creating excitement around Easter this year. Everything feels so awkward, so foreign. Easter has always been such a family centered holiday for us, which is why the thought of social distancing from extended family truly bummed me out. So much so, that I didn’t even want to “do” anything special.

Then I looked around, looked at my kiddos, they didn’t ask for this strange time. This happened to them too. As much as I need normalcy, so do they. Giving into the sadness won’t benefit anyone, in fact, it will have the exact opposite effect.

After some needed soul searching, I was all about going above and beyond for them this year. Obviously within the restrictions we’re bound to.

It was so fun coming up with little Easter basket ideas. Usually I like to throw in a few gift cards here and there, but since the goal is to stay home, I reworked the gifting.

A few fun DIY kits for Avenleigh! She’s my perfume lover, so I was stoked when I found the cutest DIY perfume roll-on kit. As well as painting ceramic fun. For the boys, legos are always a win, and a few board games to hold them over during these days.

Of course the classic Easter morning egg hunt was a must!

Like I said- we usually celebrate Easter around a large group of family which always means a ton of yummy food. I knew I had to step up my hostess game, even if it was just us. You know what guys? It was SO special. I can say without a shadow of a doubt, you can be under less than ideal circumstances but if you have those you love by your side, you have it all. Tim and the kids were so excited over the brunch I randomly put together. I’m thankful I got out of the funk I was in and pushed through.

Wishing you all had a beautiful Easter! Wherever you are and whoever you’re with. He is risen, there is cause to celebrate!

XOXO, terri
