Cocoa Bomb Cups
Just when I thought I couldn’t love the cocoa bomb trend any more… someone, somewhere, decided “let’s turn them into mini cups”. Ahh! SO. HERE. FOR. IT.
(Scroll to bottom for hot Cocoa cup cookie video tutorial)

If you were at all into this trend last year but couldn’t for the life of you figure out how to work with the cocoa bomb silicone mold, this is a much simpler process. Takes less time too!
I’ll share the tricks and tips I used when creating these. I promise this is not hard to do. You can do this!!
What You’ll Need
• Pack of mini cups. Could be solo cups or Dixie cups. (Anything you can cut with scissors!)
• tape
• scissors
• mini candy canes
• mini marshmallows
• hot chocolate mix or hot chocolate k cup
• one bag of candy melts
• chocomaker cake drip chocolate (available at Walmart for under $5)
• sprinkles for garnish
How To Make Them
Cut down the middle of one side of mini cup, taking it all the way to the base of the cup. Place tape over the cut. Set aside.
In a (microwave safe) measuring cup pitcher, melt the candy melts in the microwave according to instructions. I did mine at 30 sec (high heat) at a time. A total of one minute.
Pour chocolate into mini cup, making sure the entire cup is coated with chocolate. Pour excess chocolate back into measuring cup. Making sure the only chocolate inside cup is the coating of the cup itself. Make sure to keep remaining chocolate melted for a piping bag. If you struggle and it hardens, melt more chocolate pieces in the microwave and pour into piping bag or ziplock bag immediately.
Place mini cup refrigerator for 8-10 minutes.
Remove from fridge and carefully remove tape off of cup and peel away cup from chocolate. Chocolate should have taken the shape of cup. Leaving you with a chocolate cup mold!
Fill chocolate cup mold with hot cocoa mix about half way and insert ready to eat candy cane in the mix. Arranging it however you like! I like for the hook to face the outer cup. Fill cup with remaining hot cocoa mix until the you reach the top.
Using a piping bag or ziplock bag, pipe on chocolate over the cocoa mix to create a lid.
Place a few mini marshmallows over the chocolate and continue to create a staggered/ tower like shape with marshmallows. Adding a dab of chocolate at the bottom of marshmallow each time. This will be your “glue”!
Melt Chocomaker cake drip according to instructions and pour drizzle over marshmallows mound. This is optional but it makes it a little more fun and decadent!
Add your sprinkles and place in fridge for an additional 10-15 minutes.
That’s it! Check out video for tutorial 🙂
In addition to these adorable cocoa bombs, I was inspired to dress up a cookie to look like a fun hot cup of cocoa.
