Baby Boy Nursery

The nursery is finally done! We’re all ready and excited to meet our son, Beckett. Just 42 days left until his due date! Let me tell you something, stressing and nesting is a real emotional struggle us mama’s deal with when getting ready for baby. My husband’s “honey do list” has been pretty wild over the last few months and he has met each request with such gracious love, haha.

For those that don’t know, this is our 4th and very unexpected, “surprise” baby. The last time I was pregnant was 10 years ago, so when I tell you this was a surprise, it WAS! We couldn’t be more excited and eager to meet our sweet boy.

Trying to figure out where to make a nursery space for him was a challenge. A challenge I was faced with for the first 5 months of the pregnancy. Long story short, we decided that our newly renovated his/hers office wasn’t as important and we could part with it by converting it into the nursery. We built a smaller room within that space as an office, ideal for those work from home moments.

The beauty of this nursery is that it’s a bit smaller than my other children’s rooms so I was only able to fit essentials… and if you know me, that is a struggle haha. For as much as I want to be a cool and trendy minimalist, I am a full blooded maximalist. It has caused me so much anxiety over the years, feeling bogged down by so much stuff. However, I think we nailed it this time! I am so content with how everything turned out and I just love walking in there… it’s so calming and peaceful.

Beckett’s nursery theme is “in the clouds”, since he’s heaven sent. I wanted to incorporate some fun hot air balloon elements without it feeling too over the top. Again, I was REALLY trying to channel a minimalist, ha. I will share a detailed list of where to find items at the end of this post!

These books and Peter rabbit (flopsie) bunny were goodies we bought on a trip to London earlier this year.
Wanted to add something homemade for our boy so I painted this watercolor hot air balloon on canvas.
Found this jar in the hearth & hand bathroom section at target and fell in love. It’s perfect for holding pacifiers!
This “changing table” was our original lateral file cabinet in our previous office space. I switched out the draw pulls for this faux leather ones to make it feel more like a dresser.

This is a video of the whole space!
