Legoland- safe to stay!

We just returned from such a fun visit to Legoland!

I know it may seem odd that I’m speaking about travel during such a strange (and scary) time. However, a little backstory, I’m originally from South Florida and every summer we meet my parents in central Florida for a short visit and to be near the theme parks. While we did cancel every single trip we had this year. Seeing my parents was the one that seemed “up in the air”. We never actually postponed it. Given that it was during the summer, we hoped things would be reopened and a little less chaotic.

Truth- things are still unpredictable but ARE reopened so we made a choice as a family to take all the safety measures we could and visit my parents in Florida.

On the last day of our visit we planned an overnight stay at the Pirate Island Resort at Legoland. Again, another wild choice here but honestly, reading their operations update and how they are making it safe to play during this time, really gave me peace of mind. The thought of a fun day to enjoy one of our favorite parks was exactly what our family needed.

From the moment we walked in through the gates they were having our temperature taken and we were asked a series a questions to rule out any potential risks. Masks were required at all times at the park/ resort (with exception of dinning + water park play). Safe social distancing markers were located on the floor to indicate and maintain the appropriate 6ft distance from others. We noticed a ton of hand sanitizer stations available throughout the park and the resort. I especially appreciated the ones conveniently placed in front of the elevators!

We felt so comfortable! I knew it was going to be a great time. This was also our first visit to the resort. This place is so magical! The pirate theme is the cutest and there were so many fun things to do.

The rooms are nothing short of amazing! So many details for the kids to enjoy. Including a scavenger hunt for REAL treasure. So fun right?

Complimentary LEGO treasure box with chocolates + first time visit button pins for the kids!

The scavenger hunt was my FAVORITE. The kids had to search the room and solve simple riddles to discover the number code for the lock on the treasure box.

So many goodies in the treasure box!! LEGO surprise packets for each child, pirate eye patches, honest Apple juices, and more

While we’ve been to the park side a bunch of times, we had never visited the water park addition. We were so excited to finally enjoy it! It was the perfect hot day for it too, but then again, it’s always the perfect time for water play in Florida, ha!

The build-a-raft lazy river is too fun! There are oversized LEGO pieces that float in the water for you to connect to your raft/inner tube and create.

The kiddos LOVED the Joker Soaker! It’s filled with slides, climbing areas, water spouts and wading pool. They played for hours!

Did I mention the resort has THE most delicious dining? One of their newest restaurants is the Shipwreck

Dinner at Shipwreck Restaurant includes a three-course meal for your crew to share. It’s so yummy!! The atmosphere is so fun and definitely pirate worthy.

Btw- breakfast is always complimentary for guests at the Shipwreck. Did I mention this place is all you can eat?! Yeah, it’s pretty great!

FYI: LEGOLAND Florida Resort has extended awesome discounts for my followers! These special rates start at just $189 a night—up to 55% off, based on the night selected— and are available now through August 31 for travel through September 4. Click here to book!

Hope you enjoyed this little recap of our trip and were able to get a bit more familiar with Legoland Florida. Its truly a magical place! Best of all, they have made it safe to stay!

XOXO, terri
