How has summer come to an end? I know I say that it flies by every year, but it felt especially rushed this time.
None the less we’re in full blown back to school mode over here! We’ve done all of the shopping/ prepping and are ready for the big day!
I’ve even started trying out some new back to school snacks for the kids. I know that might seem like a wild thought, but if you knew my kids you’d understand. Ha! After school snacks are the highlight of their day. I know they love Sargento Mild Cheddar Cheese, so I knew I had to come up with fun way they could enjoy it.
It’s important for me as a mom to have the kids eat natural cheese that is real and not processed. Also, in my opinion, it tastes so good! Which is why Sargento cheese slices are always our go to. We tried out a few ideas to revamp the traditional sandwich. I combined some organic lettuce, hand carved turkey, almond slices and artisan bread to create a pretty rad “alligator sandwich”.
It’s such a fun sandwich to make and absolutely delicious! We were pretty inspired in creating fun meals so we didn’t just stop there… we made a starfish open faced sandwiches as well. There’s just so much you can do with a yummy slice of cheese you guys!
So if you’re looking to revamp those back to school snack ideas, these are great kid friendly options! If your kids like a variety of flavors, the Swiss cheese and Colby jack are great too! Keep things interesting! 🙂
Happy first day of school!
