A Mother’s Day Weekend We’ll Never Forget at The Omni Homestead
Some places become more than a vacation destination. For our family, The Omni Homestead has become a place where memories are made.

Over the years, we’ve celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and countless family milestones here. Every visit feels a little different, but somehow we always leave with new stories to tell and a countdown started for our next trip back.
This year’s visit felt especially meaningful as we celebrated Mother’s Day, Phoenix’s 16th birthday, The Omni Homestead’s 260th anniversary, and America’s upcoming 250th birthday all in one weekend.

To make the occasion even more special, Phoenix had the honor of serving as the resort’s Wishmaker during The Homestead’s anniversary celebration. As a mom, it’s hard to wrap your head around your child turning sixteen. Watching him be part of such a memorable moment during such a historic year made the weekend feel even more significant.
Our Home for the Weekend
One thing I always appreciate about The Omni Homestead is how well it works for families of all ages.
With teenagers and a toddler, space matters. Our connecting rooms gave everyone room to spread out while still keeping us together. The rooms felt comfortable and spacious, but what I love most is that they don’t feel like every other hotel room.

The Homestead has so much character. From the historic details throughout the property to the charming bathrooms and classic touches in the guest rooms, it feels like you’re staying somewhere with a story to tell.
A Weekend Spent Outdoors
If there was one theme for our weekend, it was being outside.
Beckett was completely in his element. Give that child a walking path, some open grass, and a few sticks to collect, and he’s happy for hours. He spent most of the weekend exploring the grounds, pointing out birds, finding treasures, and soaking up every minute outdoors.

The older boys naturally gravitated to the giant outdoor chess set. Every time I turned around, another game seemed to be happening. It became one of those simple vacation moments that probably won’t make the highlight reel but somehow ends up being one of the memories that sticks.

Phoenix also spent time mountain biking on his birthday, through the beautiful mountain scenery surrounding the resort. It’s hard to beat the views, and it gave us a chance to unplug and spend time together doing something we genuinely enjoyed.

Fly fishing was another highlight.

There’s something calming about standing beside the water with nowhere else you need to be. The mountains, the fresh air, and the slower pace reminded all of us why it’s important to step away from everyday life every now and then.
Mother’s Day Experiences
One of my favorite parts of the weekend was getting to enjoy some of the Mother’s Day activities offered throughout the resort.

I absolutely loved the dried flower wreath making workshop. It was relaxing, creative, and a nice opportunity to slow down for a little while. The best part is bringing home something beautiful that will always remind me of this weekend.
We also attended High Tea in the Audubon Dining Room, which felt like the perfect Mother’s Day experience. Beautiful teas, delicious treats, and a chance to sit together and enjoy the moment. It was elegant without feeling overly formal and quickly became one of my favorite memories from the trip.

A Birthday Celebration to Remember
One of the highlights of the weekend was celebrating Phoenix’s 16th birthday.

We enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner at The Audubon Restaurant, one of our favorite dining experiences at the resort. The food was incredible, but what I’ll remember most is how celebrated he felt.
Sixteen feels like such a big milestone, and The Homestead helped make it even more special. Between serving as the Wishmaker during the anniversary celebration and celebrating another year around the sun, it was a birthday weekend he’ll hopefully never forget.
The Warm Springs Pools

No trip to The Omni Homestead feels complete without a visit to the Warm Springs Pools.
There is something special about stepping into waters that have been welcoming guests for generations. The warm mineral water instantly relaxes you and somehow encourages you to slow down.
We enjoyed a private soak during our stay, and it ended up being one of the most peaceful moments of the weekend. Between the mountain surroundings and the quiet atmosphere, it felt like the perfect reset.

Why We Keep Coming Back
People often ask why we return to The Omni Homestead so often. The answer is simple.
It’s not just the beautiful property, the outdoor adventures, the delicious food, or the incredible experiences. It’s the memories.
It’s watching Beckett discover something exciting around every corner. It’s seeing the boys challenge each other on the giant chess board.
It’s celebrating sixteen years of Phoenix.
It’s sharing High Tea on Mother’s Day, casting fishing lines into the water, biking through the mountains, and ending the day together around the dinner table.
Every visit gives us another chapter in our family’s story.
This Mother’s Day weekend was filled with milestones, celebrations, and moments both big and small. And once again, The Omni Homestead provided the backdrop for memories we’ll be talking about for years to come.
